The Telangana government will construct India’s longest highway tunnel in Hyderabad. The tunnel is expected to be roughly 10 kilometers long. A four-lane tunnel will be built between Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 Junction to Banjara Hills Road No. 12 Junction. The route will feature the KBR Park connection to the NFCL Junction in Punjagutta. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will be in charge of the tunnel’s construction. (GHMC). This tunnel will alleviate traffic congestion in the area.

The government of Telangana is planning to introduce a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in two corridors – Hyderabad-Warangal and Hyderabad-Vijayawada – following the success of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) in three other corridors. The RRTS will provide fast, safe and comfortable transportation at a reasonable cost for the intra-regional movement of passengers. To advance the project, officials from several Departments of Telangana will visit Delhi in February to examine the RRTS model being implemented in the National Capital Region (NCR), as well as developments made by other states such as Kerala and Odisha. The project will be costly and will necessitate significant inter-ministerial consultations and approval, with construction and funding to begin once approved. Telangana will establish a transport corporation akin to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to take over the RRTS routes and obtain central government financing.
